Colorful Garden Romance with Texan Flair and a Show-Stopping Reception Tent

Alex and Harrison chose pale coral, sky blue, lavender, green, and butter yellow for their wedding colors

Their vision for their wedding was a garden party theme. They wanted their day to be intimate with a hint of Texas to pay homage to where they currently live.

Harrison proposed to Alex when her grandma was visiting them in Fort Worth for the weekend. Their families decided to go out to lunch together, and after, Alex and her grandma had plans to go to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. Harrison had to work and said he’d meet up with everyone later. After getting lost in the gardens, Alex and her grandmother ended up in the rose garden, where they saw Harrison waiting for them. He proposed to Alex right in the middle of the rose gardens. After the proposal, Alex’s family as well as Harrison’s family came out of where they were hiding, and everyone celebrated together that weekend.

Alex wore a stunning strapless a-line gown by Ines di Santo. Her gown was adorned with large floral appliqué, with a stunning veil to match.

Alex chose pastel colors for her bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid chose their own dress, and each dress blended perfectly as a whole.

Alex and Harrison had a variety of food and drinks. Their specialty cocktail was a Hatch green chile margarita. The passed hors d’oeuvres included melted brie and fig, bacon-wrapped fig, bison meatball, and blue corn-battered shrimp. The first course was shrimp ceviche. It had shrimp, radish, tomato, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, mint, jalapeno, and lime citrus ginger vinaigrette. For the salad, it was an arugula & blackberry salad with goat cheese, piñon nuts, and honey lemon vinaigrette. Guests were able to choose their main course from either elk tenderloin with chorizo demi glaze, green chile potato gratin, sauteed broccolini, or black cod with haricot verts and cavatappi pasta. Their wedding cake was an amaretto cake with lemon, raspberry, and white chocolate. The groom’s cake was a chocolate cake with red chile and ganache.

Their florals were whimsical and colorful, matching their garden theme. The decor details were thoughtfully curated. A bar was set up and was surrounded by lounge tables with tiny lamps, small floral centerpieces, and scalloped barstools. The tequila donkey stole the show (and a few hearts), and the escort card display was a work of art on its own. It was set against a custom watercolor floral backdrop that matched the day’s aesthetic perfectly, and could also be seen on the custom dance floor. The reception tent was a dreamscape and transformed Bishop’s Lodge into a scene straight from a Pinterest dream. Bistro lights twinkled overhead, strung across the sailcloth tent and wound around poles covered in greenery. The tables were layered with stunning florals and elegant place settings, each napkin embroidered with the couple’s last name initial. The dance floor carried through the watercolor floral theme, and florals lined the stage where the band played, tying everything together flawlessly. The ballroom turned into a disco dream with spiky disco balls, giant silver spheres, and streamers everywhere you looked.

Alex and Harrison had 2 wedding cakes! The first cake was a three-tier cake with floral accents and matched the romantic garden theme of their wedding. Their second cake was a playful tribute to their beloved pups back home. Designed to resemble a traditional New Mexican adobe home, it featured their dogs and charming Southwestern details.

A small but meaningful detail was the custom embroidered napkins with the couple’s last name initial on them.

The head table was especially unique, with round tables arranged in a flowing, caterpillar formation that made the space feel dynamic and intimate. It was one of our favorite details of the day.

Alex and Harrison opted for a late-night snack for guests to munch on and keep the party going. Servers passed around fries to guests as they danced the night away. Alex and Harrison also had custom trucker hats that they passed out late in the evening.
